Bad Experience With JDM supplier

Hopefully none of you will have the same experience I've had with a company called Motorworks in Westbury NY www.enginereplacement.com/.

In August I ordered a Nissan VG30 Engine from Motorworks. In September I installed the engine in a friend's 1995 Nissan Pathfinder. After the engine was installed I filled it with oil and started it up. We soon discovered the engine was leaking oil and was making some knocking sounds.

Before calling Motorworks back, my friend decided to get a second opinion from a certified mechanic. He figured it would help his case for getting the motor replaced. So a couple of weeks ago he took it took a local shop. The mechanic inspects the engine and says that it is damaged due to insufficient oil. At this point the engine has been run less than an hour by my friend, who has made sure it was full of oil.

Since Motorworks has a six month warranty we hoped they would replace it for us. So we called Motorworks. We also faxed a document from the certified local mechanic. They refuse to replace the engine. Instead they said we damaged the motor and therefore won't replace it.

Anyway I just wanted to share my experience with this company. Do any of you have advice about what I should do next??

legal action man.. they have no proof that you did the damage and they cant do that so threaten them with a legal action and see what they say.. if nothing then really go all out on them and stuff with the legal stuff. Also do they have paperwork stating their terms and conditions and about their return policy and about stuff saying with their warranty if so that can be really useful.

hope this helps

Exactly, take legal action against the company. They have a 2 week starting warranty at least. Motors cost money, don't let them do this to anyone else.

Thanks for the info. The company has a copy of their SIX month warranty on their website. But judging from the reaction I'm getting from the company, I doubt they've ever honored their warranty.
