Exclamation Screwed by Hotshot

I wanted to let everyone know of my situation with Hotshot. I mention JGY in this write up, but not because they had anything to do with this order (I ordered directly from HSS). I don't want there to be any confusion about them, they have always been good to work with.

I ordered a replacement gasket for my HSS headers on Feb. 6th. Prior to my purchase, I emailed a question about what gasket I needed. In a few hours I received a response directing me to the item I needed. I promptly bought the gasket ($64 w/ s+h) and waited for tracking info. After 2 weeks of nothing, I emailed them for staus on my part. I received an automated response letter telling me that I should be patient and that I would get an email telling me either the tracking # or the estimated ship date. After waiting another 2 weeks, I still had nothing. I searched their website for a phone number and called, but it was disconnected. I sent an email cancelling my order with no response. Today I filed a complaint with PayPal. It seems like they went out of business, but they have a bulletin on their website saying that them going out of business was "an unfounded rumour". I contacted JGY Customs for a possible back channel phone # to HSS. JGY has been such a great place to do business with that I felt they would help me out if they could. The nice lady who took my call their told me that they no longer deal with HSS, although she could not elaborate why. It smells suspiciously like HSS is on the downslope of bankruptcy. I would not order anything from them if you are considering it, I only got f'ed on a gasket; I don't want to see anyone get the same treatment on a turbo kit!

So in short, BEWARE!!

Sorry to hear about that bud. I called them up last year about their GA16DE header which rusted after a month I bought it and they blew me off. I'd really hate to deal with them again.

Yeah, I ordered a header on Feb. 21 and still haven't even received the tracking# and it's March 13. I garuntee they will pay back my credit card(Household Bank) or they will get sued! $493.00 didn't just disapear out of thin air!

I posted to other forums as well, and nothing good has been said. It seems like everyone is suffering the same way I am. Except others have headers and CAI's on order, not just a gasket like me. I have also found out that a few companies are no longer dealing with HSS for unspecified reasons, probably more of the same.

i am very surprised about your situation.. i have ordered my CAI, Header, and just last summer i order the GA turbo kit.. john from hs was awesome.. he helped me out alot.. which is very surprising to me about the service you are having. my turbo kit came with a few parts missing, and when i called john said id have them in a day.. or two.. he over nighted me the parts at no extra charge.. and he also helped me on the phone wit the install. i would try to contact them again through email.. i do know that they wer in the process of expanding their facility. if so.. that would explain the phone being disconnected. sorry about your luck bro... dont' give up. though

^^Even if that was the case, they coulda let me know. I tried to support them by buying a $64 gasket that I could have made, the least they could have done was respond to me... over the past month and a half. Hotshot makes a good product, no doubt, but the customer service I experienced was an absolute zero.

I have found HotShot to be good to work with, however, I couldn't justify that much money for a gasket. While I haven't installed this yet, others have said the fit is good. The price is certainly great. Check out Summit Racing - this link will take you right there.

^^ Just wanted to let everyone know that this gasket linked above is exactly the same thing Hotshot sent me. Hotshot: $64. Summit: $7.
