02 Sentra SER, third gear grinds alot, upshifting and downshifting, the only way to not grind is to shift slowly at low rpms, and still sometimes it still grinds, anyone have anything of the sort? Also as soon as the rpms go higher then 4000 you can hear something vibrate, I suspect it's my busted speaker, but can it be something else?

For whatever reasons, the cable actuated shifters on our cars don't seem to work as well as other cars with similar mechanisms....also you're gearshift knob may be vibrating....I read somewhere that you can remove it, wrap some teflon tape around the bolt, reattach and it stops the buzzing.

turned out that my drive train warranty was still good and what happened was that the conneting rod or something like that to the third gear was burnt out so they replaced my trasmition for a brand new one...pretty sweet!
