I have cracked 2 of my Spec-V rims and severely bent another one and they won't cover the rims under warranty because they don't feel as if it's a manufacturers defect. I would like to know how many more people are having a problem with the durability of the rims because I can't afford to replace them but if I get enough other people with damaged rims then I will have a case to have them covered under warranty(and so will anybody else.) Hopefully I'm not the only person this has happened to.
wow, i dont know how you could have done that unless you either,
a) live in a really cold place were you hit a pot hole and they cracked
b) were going really fast and hit a pot hole
c) you did a curby.
mine are just all scratched up, the problem getting some help with that is, rims and tires, are user error. they expect your insurance to cover that.
just like if your car got damaged, cuz they did not post the proper construction signs and you hit like a big azz pot hole. its hard to build a case on that, especially because your going up agaist a multi billion doller company. ( how many billions do you have )

can never win agaist the man.
The first rim that cracked was cracked all the way around and i did hit a place in the road where they scraped it away and there was at least a 3 inch drop and it was springtime in Indiana so it was roughly 50 or 60 degrees out These last two have just been from driving on the East side of Indianapolis where I live, some of the roads aren't very well taken care of and they're full of potholes and large bumps in the road that are unavoidable. my car hasn't hit any curbs except for the slight scraping as i'm parallel parking in front of my house so no high speed curbies. And if I had billions of dollars I wouldn't be driving a Sentra with a donut on the right rear and a rim that leaks air on the front right. No way I'll ever buy another Nissan though too bad the midwestern Service department manager didn't attempt to compensate me in any way since they are a billion dollar company. I love the performance of the car but I can't afford the replacement of the rims.
He has a point why not just get a set of rims for the guy he( the service manager) probbally could source a set dirt cheap and it is good customer service maybe his rims were subquality. Also another problem with a rim lawsuit is that alot of people replace their factory rims with aftermarket ones early in the rims life there for there is a lot of them sitting around not being used. So why don't you put a shout out to other Spec V owners and see if they may have a set laying around doing nothing. Also look in your wrecking yards I am sure someone has totaled a Spec V
i feel you pain man, rims are not cheap, but stock rims are not that great any way. their nice for stock, but aftermarket rims are always the best way to go, and if you find a set with like one or 2 scratchs on it, the price should drop. used nissan sentra rims
then their is always ebay. but you never know.
I have been amazed at how well my stock 02 rims have held up. Considering the extreamly small sidewall the tires have. All in all these are some of the more druable stock rims I have seen on a car. I would suggest getting some 16's and a larger sidewall tire if you are having so much trouble. The roads around here are crap, and I have not had any issues with my rims/tires.
the rims on the spec price out at $542 EACH from nissan if i am correct... the service manager probably didnt want to throw you 2200 bux worth of wheels on a car the dealership probably made 200 bux on... ebay is definitly your friend... When you have such low pro tires, you need to be aware... its not nissan making shitty wheels, its your handing them too much abuse for the little sidewall on that tire, there isnt nearly as much air in them to coushion you as in a passanger car's normal wheels...

Why don't you just go to your insurance company and have them look at it. They will tell you how much the damage is, and write you a check less your deductable. Those Nissan rims are expensive, I just bought 4 Konig Helium rims WITH Kumho Ecsta MX tires from discount and it cost $1200. If you messed up 3 rims that's $1620. Take away your deductable (If you're smart, it's no more than $500 for comprehensive) and you have a brand new set of aftermarket rims, if not tires also.
