Well my negative terminal connector is all messed up. It may have been me over time or it may have been one of the various places that works on my car. Considering it isnt anything big, it isnt a big deal, I just want the easiest way to fix it. It is incapable of being tightened and slightly chewed up so when I go to start the car it pops off. A few sealants work for a week or so and then give up and this is getting rather annoying to have to pop my trunk, get outside, and push it back down. On top of that, if this happened while I were driving it would suck. After 20+ times of this, I just want to fix it or replace it. Their doesnt seem to be enough slack to cut it and splice a new terminal so where am I to go?
that blows but what you could do is replace the peice that runs from the very first chassi ground to the negative battery terminal i have a b14 so i dont know where your chassi grounds are instead of it being one long wire at the first ground cut it in half and put a ring connecter on then buy a new peice of what ever gage wire and color you want put a ring connecter on one side of it then ground the two then geta new hook up for the battery.....b'mor what! u go to college park?
the old connector should be able to be removed from the cable and then you can add a new connector where it was. You should not have to cut the old one off. Take a pic of the connector if you can. If not I will try to look after work today.
::EDIT::
based on this pic I would say the Neg terminal / connector only acts as a ground. If thats the case just go buy some insulated 4ga wire and build your own new ground from the Neg terminal.
See the black wire running to the fender wall.

yeah the neg terminal is a POS, mine started doing the same thing....I would be fine, then I would turn off the car, go to turn it back on and there would be nothing because the terminal had slipped off while driving. I just bought a set of aftermarket terminals, which also helped with the dimming I was getting. There is enough room to cut the cable and attach it to a new terminal, but not much extra. While you're at it you might as well add your own 4awg ground in parallel to the stock one (that's 1/3 of the big 3) to help out the efficiency of your electrical system.
