This hurt?

just wondering, the only mod i have to my 03 spec now is a aem cai. i dont have a water bypass valve or whatever that may be, but my question is, where i live it tends to rain a bit, avoiding goin through deep puddles and lots of water!!! will the cai still suck up alot of water when driving in the rain? and if so what should i do??

Just make sure you put your inner finder liner back in. and yes avoid deep water.. even your stock will suck up water in submerged....I've driven with CAI in down pours with no troubles...

unless the filter is submerged fully, you won't have any problems...fender liner or not.

I've been running the CAI without a fender liner for 9 months now....thru 2 hurricanes.

Somewhere I heard you have to drive through 2 inches of water to have a problem...and if your in 2 inches of water, you wont be driving, youll be up a creek without a paddle lol.

Nope, it has to be FULLY submerged in water. The engine does not generate enough vacume to lift water (too heavy) if the ENTIRE filter is submerged it will suck the water up.

... and possibly even a third. Best of luck by the way. So you took off the fender liner around the CAI? Doesn't debris from the tire get kicked up all into it? Is it safe to run it without the liner? I didn't think it was. Does it make a difference either way (performance wise)?

no because the filter sort of sits in a "cup" of fender liner.....and I just took off the part that faces the front of the car.
