Smile Otto racing CAI

Hello all, I'm new here and just purchased a 04 SE-R.

I want to start with a few light mods and found a CAI made by Otto racing for a really sweet price ($79.95 + 19.99 shipping).

Anyone have this CAI or know anything about it? Or is it another one of those too good to be true deals?

I appreciate any help and thanks for any replies in advance!

sounds like a cheap POS..............but good luck with it.

I'd stick with AEM, Injen, Nismo, or Hotshot, personally.

That's what I figured.

I was also looking at the K&N typhoon CAI for my car. Anyone have one on there ride?

I must say thought not to change the subject but I was really impressed by this car. For a stock four banger it really moves. I think for the price to car ratio this auto is a super buy. Just my two cents.

Again, thanks for the replies and the help.

chimmike: I see a lot of you on these forums and was really impressed by your car projects. Very nice work!

I have a question for you: What CIA is the best to get for my car? I would rather do things right the first time around if you know what I mean?

Again thanks fellas for the help!

well..............really any one of the big units are good, Hotshot, AEM, Nismo.

Personally, since you have an 04, I'd go with a Nismo unit. It may be slightly expensive, but you've got a part engineered by Nissan for your car...and if it's an S-tune part (I don't know if it is, someone will chime in and say for sure) it will maintain warranty.

don't forget to break that engine in properly before you go out and find out how well the car performs. If you don't break it in properly, you'll not have a great performing engine for long.

Thanks for the replies.

About breaking in the engine: I have been riding her nice and slow at first. No heavy acceleration under long periods. I gave a little gas here and there because I can't see only driving a car for the first thousand miles or so doing only fifty. A new engine needs to also be broken in for faster speeds than what a seventy year old lady would drive. I took a nice balance of slow rolling the engine for most part and giving it some "very" short speed runs. I also throw some marvel mystery oil in the old gas tank for a little extra lubrication. That stuff is gold. Never had a bad engine to date using it. So far everything is going good.

Again thanks for the help gentlemen.
