Creeping in 1st gear

I have an 04 spec. Today I was in traffic that moved real slow. I was creeping in first gear with the engine at idle rpms. I was pleasantly surprised how I could do this. Sometimes I have creep in second too. Especially when going thru easy pass toll booths.

I assume the rule is to do gentle acceleration until you hit at least 2 grand. This shouldn’t cause any problems would it? I assume lugging the engine is when you want power below 2K rpms.

Not sure what you are saying, but the spec v has great low end torque. This means you can utilize any gear at a very low rpm.

he's talking about idling, just going down a flat road in 1st or 2nd gear with the clutch out and the car just idling along. I do it in my car occasionally, whenever I'm in slow traffic or whatever, only in 1st and 2nd gear though.

Correct. I'm assuming this is fine as long as u don't stomp on it. So when traffic starts moving again -- just slowly speed up till 2 grand.

that's the same thing I do, slowly accelerate until the rpm gets up to 1500-2000 before actually digging into the gas.

ya i hate drivin in traffic, luckly we dont have much in melbourne fl, but now since hurricane frances took out most of our power, all the intersections are four way stops, i usually just wait until the car infront is like 8 car lenghts in head, then everyone starts honking, cuz they want to inch up for no apparent reason.
