Can anyone tell me if the bell housing is different from the Sr20det to QR25? I'm up for a swap in my 03 SpecV but I wanna keep my 6sp. Will it bolt up or will I have to find a 5sp, dunno need some info?
And why bother? Although the SR is an amazing engine, the QR is no slouch either. Wait around for a little bit and there will be plenty of turbo options available for your car.
but a SR20DE will fit in the car... but if i were to put a five to ten year old engine in a car, i'd pick something older and crappier... it would be a shame to waste that beautiful new QR... but if you want one, send it over here... we'll swap you an SR20DET for it! j/k (the shipping would be horrendously expensive!)

I actually remember hearing someone wiring a qr tranny to work on a B15 Sr20de. I think it was JWT, but I could be wrong. Look around on sr20deforums, I think I saw it there.

Alright guys, here's the skinny on the adaptation. Just talk to JWT and they have a customer that has taken the belhousing from a Jap-spec trans and is adapting it over(mounting is different) to install a SR20DET onto the QR's 6sp. It's still being developed right now but I'm going to stay in contact w/JWT to find out what's all involved and get the trans type for the swap.
so i could do an sr20de swap and have a 6spd tranny also?? that'd be ill as hell, although right now i never get out of 4th cuz I DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT (or slightly over )but it'd be cool.
