wat does it mean when the specs on a car say that it has175hp@6600rp, ant 180lbs of torque@4400rpm???
what's better, having 180lbs of torque@4400 or 160lbs@1750???

um, that's the torque and hp and a specific part of the rpm band....I really don't know how else to explain it. Have you never seen a dyno graph? The torque at all the points on a dyno is the actual power the engine is putting out at that rpm. Then you plug it into this equation:
hp=tq*(rpm/5252)
to get your hp. As you can see, 180ft-lbs of torque at 1krpm will only give you 34hp, but 180ft-lbs of tq at 6k rpm will give you 206hp. It's all in the characteristics of the engine, the spec has a lot more low-end punch than other cars (it has a lot more torque at low rpms) which makes it much nicer for around town driving. But it's torque starts to fall of fairly quickly, which is why it only has a peak hp of 175.
