hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself, i've been reading many different threads in this forum and have been in the market for a new ride. The '03 Spec V is definitely the car for me and I was just wondering if any of you Spec V owners out there had any suggestions for me before I head out to the dealership.
i.e. bargaining strategies, options, whether or not to get leather seats, or anything you think will help me get the most out of my experience with this awesome ride.
If you care about audio, then don't get the RF package. You can make yourself a much much nicer system for the outrageous price they charge for that RF package.
Or if you want a decent system without the hassel of buying, replacing, and installing audio, go with the RF package. Plus you get car immobilizer with the RF package.

no RF = no immobilizer. Plus I use to do audio competions and installs....I just got sick of hasseling with the audio aspect of my car, so thats why I got the RF package.

If i'm not mistaken, they have a $1,500 rebate this month if you pay cash. or you can get a 0.9% apr which is a really really low interest car payment. there are different ways of bargaining, so it depends on how you aproach it. I got my spec v (w. Airbag and ABS) for ~$16,500 (w/ tax, tags, title). It also depends on which dealership. I heard that some dealerships in Pennsylvania are offering rediculously low prices....anywho. buy the car, have fun with it, cuz no matter what, your getting a lot of car for the price you pay =)
Oh, and if your dealership don't believe that other dealerships can offer the car for below invoice, tell them to go to this website. This is the place i got my car. http://www.hgnspecials.homestead.com...ntraSpecV.html
First I did the online Quote, 17,600 (RF, Sunroof, Floormats in Feb '02 when Spec's were hard to come by) Went to the dealership and they said 18,900 was the lowest they could go. I told them if they could do 17,600 I'd sign and walk out. That was only $300 over invoice at the time. He said let me go talk to my boss and came back w/ the paperwork. I talked him down 1,300 just by shopping around with hardly doing anything
Dealers seem to be giving the SpecV's away. I was given an "out-the-door" price on a '03 SpecV with every option (MSRP $19,864) of $17,697. Too bad I have no money and it will be my ol' man buying the car and he doesn't like making rush decisions...
