poping the clutch

he what does this mean, does it mean reving to say 2500 rpm and then just letting the clutch out by taking your foot off instanly and it snapping up or is it just really quickly letting your foot off the clutch i have never been clear about this term poping the clutch?

if the car is running, popping the clutch involves giving gas (as little or as much as you want) and snapping your leg off the clutch pedal.

if the car isn't running (i.e. dead battery), popping the clutch involves getting the car rolling (in gear, with clutch pedal depressed) and once momentum builds, snapping your leg off the clutch and slamming the gas pedal in.

hope this helps

Re: poping the clutch

"Popping" can include anything from suddenly letting the clutch pedal snap up with only air resistance... lol... to engaging it very deliberately. Niether practice is very good for the clutch or clutch mechanism... keep that in mind.

The best way to get the lowest 0-60 time is to slap a pair of RX6 turbos in it. =D

Seriously, tho- popping the clutch means when you shift gears, you let the clutch out too fast, or don't apply the correct amount of gas.
