I would take the Spec V over the SE-R. The suspension is better and it has HLSD.

If you want all out performance, take a look at the Dodge Neon SRT-4. It's a lot quicker than the other cars in this class.

If you don't want the Neon, then it would come down to the Spec V and Mazdaspeed Protege for me. Test drive both and see which one you like. But the Protege is at least 2k more expensive, and you can get Spec V's for well under MSRP.

Other cars in the class which I looked at- Tiburon V6, GTI 1.8t, Focus SVT, Mini Cooper S.

thanks for the info. the only reason i wanted the '02 sentra and not the'03 is cuz it would be used which would allow it to fall within my limited price range. If you ar anyone know the resale value of a Neon srt-4 plz tell me cuz that would be the car i most want, but i probably cant afford it.

i know a 03 is a bit more but from what i have read on here, i think it would be better to save up the extra 1000 or whatever it is and get an 03, just due to many tranny problems that i have heard of, at least consider it bro...

It's too early to tell what the SRT-4 resale value will be like. And I would be kind of scared to get a car like that, which has probably been beat on like crazy by some kid. But who knows, you may find a good used one.
