I have a 2002 spec v. the other day, i was sitting at a light, and my car suddenly died and would not start again. I figured it was the fuel pump because it no longer primes when the key is turned to the ON position. So i replaced the fuel pump, only to get the same result. I have checked all the fuses and the relays, as well as the harness for the fuel pump...and it all checks out. The only thing I can think of is the ecm, so I am going to check the wiring harness on that tomorrow. If that all checks out, does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem.

Also, the engine turns over, just will not start.

Last thing...does anyone know about a safety or a g-switch that will disable the fuel pump incase you are in an accident? Could this have gone off from hitting a nasty bump or malfunctioned?

The 2.5s have had problems in the past with their cam and crank sensors! This could be your problem?

and i believe it was the 02 who also had a service bulletin on the fuel pump assembly. might want to call the dealership and ask.
