Hey all, I'm new here.
My car's been down and out the past two days cause I wasn't able to shift into 2nd or 4th gear, but 1st and 3rd worked alright. Judging from the official workshop manual I got yesterday, difficult shifting or unable to shift is because of 3 things:
1) high oil levels or wrong oil.
2) control device and cable is worn.
3.1) baulk ring is worn or damaged.
3.2) insert spring, or shifting insert is damaged.
I don't think its the oil levels, since I haven't changed anything since later last year. If it really is the control device, would that mean the shifter in general? and if so, would I simply need to replace the whole shifter? as in upgrade?
I really hope its not because of 3, since thats inside the transmission and as such, hella expensive.
Does anyone have any input?
