My next oil change I’m switching to synthetic, I’ve herd the cheaper Wal-Mart synthetic is just as good as mobile1 I was hoping one of you guys would know if this is true. I have 105k on my car I was going to check if they made a high mile synthetic in the discount brand if not is the high mile stuff really necessary?

Also are you guys using any additives for your fuel or oil? I never have because I don’t know which ones work or which ones are a waist of money and do more harm then good.

Thanks for all the good advice that you guys give me it really helps to know I’m doing the right things with my car.

I've used Mobil 1 in my 01 Sentra since new, and I've been using the Wal-Mart synthetic in my daughter's Stratus for a couple of years and it seems to be fine. I compared the specs on them and they were the same.

I haven't used any oil additives for years.

Oh, and I do use a can of major brand fuel injection cleaner in the gas every 5,000 - 10,000 miles.
