tach problem

2002 sentra ser.....whats up the other day i was driving to go see my parents about a 2 hour drive right. just cruising down the I5 and out of no where my car shudders and the tach falls to 0. the motor is still running just fine, just no tach. another 20min goes by and the CE light comes on so i pull over to scan and it comes up with crank sensor chanel A.... i think the code was p0304 not shure got to check again. well i erased the code and the tach comes back and it happened again so i left it. i was wondering would the dealer cover this as per the recal for the crank sensor i dont know

I just started getting this exact same problem, at least it sounds like it. About a week ago, I was driving on the highway and I got the sudden tach drop to 0, and a noticeable power loss ! The tach stayed off, until the next day, it was working normally again. It was fine for the last week until today, the same thing happened , same power loss while its off, and now my service engine soon light is on !

Have you figured anything else out about the problem?

I guess I'll be taking my car into the nissan dealer...

(I have a 2003 SE-R Spec V)

the dealer should cover the crank or throttle sensor. let us know how it turns out!
