Possible exhaust leak?

I have been hearing a low-pitch whine corresponding to engine revs this last week. It's been terribly humid and I thought it might be an A/C issue, but it's still there after the humidity has subsided. It's not loud but noticeable.

Could this be some sort of bearing that has got dirty or worn out?

My 2001 GXE's exhaust is original could this be a manifold leak issue? The sound is coming from the engine area. My Sentra has over 216.000 kms on it so anything can happen at this stage......

i would take off the belt and maybe replace it, with the belt off spinn the pulleys and see if any of them is causing the whine, you can also start the car without the belt on and see if the noise is still there, ( of course dont run it too long as the waterpump and alt arent going ) if the noise is still there, look at your exhaust.

I'll have to get it checked. It's not getting any worse. It's not a belt whine, still think there is a hole or leak in the manifold section.

The problem was the alternator, getting an aftermarket one in a a week's time. I suppose this is normal, the car has a lot of klicks on the odometer.
