Spec V or 240sx?

I'm posting this in both forums so i get opinions from both sides.

I'm between getting a 94 or 95 240 or waiting 6 months and buying a spec v. Actually my parents are buying the car for me, and i don't know if they'll even put up enough for me to get the V. Anyways though, whats your opinion on the V, i've heard both good and bad things about. I deffinately like the sportier looks of the 240 but i don't like to get out of the car everytime someone hops in and i probably could use the extra space anyways.

Is the smoothed out gear changes that much more noticable in the 2003 model?

Well, dude the 240 is awsome and you can do alot to a 240 man. I mean you could do a S15 front kit, SR20DET or even keep the KD24 motor and use a Jim Wolf cams and ECU. Those few things can stick you out from the crew. Now the Spec V man is what you call a fast car out of the box. I ran a few KD24 240s and I have to amit on a run after run after run the Spec V rules man. It's a new car and a new motor. Yes the QR25DE has a few probs. But it all depends on the break in period. There are also superchager kits from AREA51 and a turbo kit being worked on as we speak from Forced Induction Racing. So take a pick man if it comes to JDM styling, 240SX and at lest an 96. But if you want to roll up on someone and make them wounder, if you are turboed, SC'ed or even NOS and have a very clean Mini SKYLINE look get the Spec V.

Go with the new specv. Unless, you plan on spending some serious cash go with the specv. The 240 is nice and as more potential but it's used and most likely dogged out.

240 is prettier...spec v is faster, more practical, newer and not bad looking.
u guys think a 97 5 speed 240sx se can take an auto SE-R??

actually the 97 240 is hot...does the 94 look the same, because between the old style 240sx and the spec v, the spec v is way nicer

Between a old 240sx and a new Spec V..
four doors vs 2 doors?
FWD vs RWD?
03 vs 97?
Personally I think a 240sx looks better than a B15.
There will be more after marke parts for B15, are you willing to shell out $4000k just for a SC or turbo?
240sx is slow. Spend money to tune is almost expected.

Dont' dig yourself into a hole, get a Spec V.

my .02

If your parents are buying the car or at least putting up most of the money (Lucky Bastard) go with the SE-R. Especially if you are looking at aftermarket potential. If the QR25 has half what the SR20 has had, you should be in good shape.

I guess i'm leaning towards the spec v but i know i'd be getting a 2002 and am scared that the previous owner was a bitch and didn't follow any of the break rules. would i be able to tell for sure if it was as it should or do the problems creep in slowly after a lot of driving? also it sucks because except for a friend of mine who works at nissan, none of the dealers around here will let me test drive anything...i'm only 16.

I really wish i hadn't read the 20k and under shootout in SCC....

One other thing...

Exactly what changes where made to the 03 spec v with regards to the seats? I actually thought the black/red V with red carbonfiberish seats was pretty hot. Better than the typical dull factiry seat.
