I have both of your problem in my 2001 GXE. There is no aftermarket for the sun visor and you pretty much stuck with Nissan.

My CD player also crap out and not reading disc. Use some cleaning disc will temporary fix it. Even though I am a high end audio dealer, I won't put too much emphasis in car audio because of environment. I incline to get one with front aux-in so that I can use other source and only need to use the built-in CD player when needed.

I meant listening environment. The surrounding noise level is too high to listen to music seriously. I also don't want to get too involve with the music so that I ignore the traffic condition. Also in audiophile term, you can never get good imaging and soundstaging in a car. All those glass are curse of high frequency. Lastly, I still yet found a header unit that does NOT come with tone-control or equalizer which is distortion or colouration generator. If you know one, please let me know.

Chimmike, Alphine actually is a good choice. I used to like Nakamichi but as I said before, it is a waste of money on car audio. I better spend that in home audio.
