2001 SE Air Condition Recharge
The other day my wife told me her air conditioner did not seem to be cooling as well as it did in the past. Got into her car and started the air and initially it started out pretty cool but then it petered off and started to blow around luke warm air. Shutting it off for a period of time and back on resulted in cool air followed by luke warm air. Figuring that the system needed recharged, I headed down and picked up a can of R134a with oil and hooked it up. I noticed before doing anything that the pressure on the low side was already at 45lbs so I stopped and did nothing since it was within the stated range. So my question is do I need to take it somewhere and have the system evacuated and recharged properly to get it back to cooling like it should or is there some technique I can use to do this myself? Or is there something else possibly wrong?
