Something is Burning?

I own A 2002 Sentra ser specv. Just recently I have Started smelling something burning. No temperature problems, all the fluids are perfect. I have not found any melted wires. I am wondering if it could be my clutch, even though it feels fine? Or the fact that I run 96oct with a fuel booster? Could I be burning up my CAT? Still have stock headers. I plan on pulling the front cap, and the header, but would like to see if anyone out there has had/or has the same problem. If so what did you do to fix it?

Thanks.

Have U checked for plastic stuck to your exhaust? This is a common problem...

What does it smell like? Did oil spill on the exhaust when replacing the filter?

I am the second owner of this car. I have yet to hear about any recalls. Could you let me know what they are.

see the stickies in the QR engine section. the biggest one in your case is the pre catalyst. and why are you running 96 and what additive? that could be causing what you are smelling by building shit up in your cats.

Have neveer run anything less then 96 in any car I have ever owned. The fuel here in Butf@*k MS. has a lot of water and sediment. I think you may be right about the cat. As for the boost it is BG fuel additive.

Yes, Plan on putting the front cap back on and taking my car to the shop for a run over. Hopefully nothing real serious, or expensive. I will let you know. Wish me luck.

this is the B15 section. The 1994 is a B13. This is the section where you will get more replies.

?????????

Hey ZAC; I decided to steam clean my eng. bay before I put my front cap back on, just to get the road dirt off. Well after I steamed it, and reinstalled my front cap. No smell, nothing. Real weird, could it have just been dirt backing on my block? Real weird.

Thanks for all the help.
