16" rims?

i was looking at the rota 16 " subzero wheels compared to a set of 17" and was noticing that the16s were both alot lighter and a decent bit cheaper. i was just wondering if i put these wheels on with something like 205/45's on them if it would increase my performance from what it is now with 17" enkei that weigh 22 pounds with 215/45's on them.
thanks for the help

yes, it would increase performance quite a lot by saving you a lot of weight. i was looking at rota but i opted not to purchase them after talking to a few owners.

It will save weight from a 17 inch wheel but will increase sidewall rollover by a small amount. your can/will accell a little faster but be a little sloshier though the turns.

what was it exactly that made you not want to go with rota?
and im looking more for handling than acceleration, so should i just stick with the 17" wheels?

i've got a set of Rota slipstreams but they are 15's and on my b13.

I'd stick with 17's if you want better handling. Tires are the most important for handling anyway. You could outperform a 17 with a good 16 any day.

Just get what appeals to you. As long as your happy with your decision thats what important.

i didnt go with rota because they arent exactly the best made wheels. while they are light, they are by no means strong so with baltimore roads, i decided on gram lights.

I'll give it to you that rota wheels may not be as strong as the volk's but they are definatly better than 90% of the wheels you can buy on the market now. And at the prices they have now you will be hard pressed to find a wheel that is as good as the rota's. And look at it this way, you can buy a set of rota's for the price of one volk wheel.

Rota is exceptionally light and definately lighter than 90% of wheels out their. Also, they come in a wide variety of offsets, styles and sizes. Minus the cheezy center caps, they are gorgeous wheels. Their pricing is durt cheap and their finish does hold up. After hearing a few stories about them bending and cracking, I chose to spend over twice as much on Ray's Engineering due to the areas that I drive in. Mind you, if you have nice roads, the Rota may likely be the best out their for a certain application. Obviously, the wheel does not damage itself and it is the driver and the roads that do that.
