Question Inches from a 2nd Sentra, should I do it??

I went and put down a $100 deposit for an 05 Spec V today. Brilliant Aluminum I believe, with only the in-cabin filter, floor mats, and the brembo brakes as the options. I am looking at a total cost of $17,171.36 including taxes (7.75%), title, and license. I have until this coming wednesday to say yes or no. Should I go for it or try to find a better deal? Please let me know. thanks.

if that includes tax and licensing, thats not bad at all, good deal. only if its less than 5% apr? whats your interest rate? cuz it doesnt matter that your getting a good price on the car... if the interest rate is like 12%...

Keep in mind that the brembo brakes do not come with abs! that's why i didn't get them, besides you can buy better aftermarket brakes that are cheaper than $2500

abs brakes

I dont like abs brakes anyway. the abs hub went out twice on my old chevy lumina, cost me $800 to fix it the first time, was warrantied the second. besides the car is light enough and the brakes are good enough to not really need it. the brembos were only a $870 from what I could tell

The dealer wouldn't let me go after he ran my credit. Yesterday, I was offered 2.0% interest for 48 mos. as opposed to 60 mo. probably due to the fact that I have a FICO of 815. They are offering a 2500 discount for Spec-V's. If I can walk away paying 15K then I would be happy. Anyway, I'm thinking about a second sentra only for use on the weekends and to keep the miles super low on it. I am thinking about the brembo package as well, but plugging it in on the nissan site seems not configure right with other options when you are building your sentra. I don't know what the problem is.

The problem is that the site doesnt allow any of the other options Therefore the following options are deselected WHEN the Spec V brake package is selected
power sunroof
audio fanatic
side impact air bags

So you can never design a fully loaded sentra?

The deaer told me when i went to buy mine, that when you get the brembo brake package; you can only get the brembo brake package, meaning that all you get for your options is brembo brakes. No audio fanatic, and no sunroof, or side curtain air bags. NOW THAT IS WHAT THE DEALER TOLD ME! He could very well be full of crap. I got my '05 Spec v with all the options but Brembo brakes for $15000. And like I said before, i do not regret it.

I went in to the dealership asking for only the brembo brakes, and thats what I am getting. I was looking at about $15,600 before taxes and stuff. My 04 SER auto has a sunroof and had the audio fanatic package. I didnt want those options because I wanted to keep the car as light as I could. I replaced that stereo with a much larger one. I like the sound of 2 12" woofers over the single 8", not that it was bad, it just didnt have any punch to it. Though my dashboard still has the Rockford Fostgate head unit and the crappy amp still is still in the trunk, I like the way the stereo sounds now a lot better. It is kinda strange to have 2 head units in the car, but when it is dark and the lights are on, the RF system doesnt light up, so its easy to tell that it is not operational. It also took a few days for me to get used to not turning the knob on the RF, but reaching lower for the mp3 player. I also replaced the speakers with a set of Polk Momos.

No offense but Chevy Lumina? Nuf said. The ABS system on the V is excellent. I've been on a racetrack and autoxed all summer and have had no problems at all. The Brembos are also excellent but are hard to modulate without ABS, even for expert drivers. Almost everyone on this board will tell you, ABS > Brembo and I'm one of them.

Also, if your paying cash, you should hunt around. Cash customers are automatically entitled to better pricing. This is a fact. But if you tell no one, you'll be treated like the rest of us.

I went shopping around to a few dealers and none could get as low as $17,171. the closest was like $17,696. St Charles Nissan is going to give me the college discount, and others would not. I am a full time student. Also my old Chevy was great other than the hub problems, and the ball joint I blew out. I got that beater up to 195k miles before selling it to carmax for $50.
