My tach does not seem to work when i turn on the ignition it goes to 3000rpm and stays there when i switch the engine of it flops down sometimes to 9000 rpm sometimes to 0rpm it is not working at all has anyone else had this problem, if so how did you fix it any help would be greatly appreciated
I have open the instrument cluster and there seems to be no foul play, I dont know what to do next, it is not an RPM surge because I would hear it other than that the car runs beautifully
mine is all the way past 9k and i turn it on when i rev it it goes backwars to 8.4 or 9k rpms, its freakin weird.
mine goes just past 8k...oh wait that's normal
Um, I don't think there's a spring in there that makes the needle return to 0, the speedometer has one, but not the tach. It's possible the little motor in there is shot b/c the needle can only fall backwards (toward the 9k) when there's not enough electromagnetic force to move it back down the RPM range.

I've been having the same problem with the tachometer as well. If anyone really does know of a fix, I'd like to know. Thanks. mk200sxser.
