Magnaflow Exhaust...

Ok so I finally got my intake working, and now I am headed for the other side. I can't really afford a whole new exhaust system yet. And I want my sentra to look and sound good moreso than squeeze 250 whp out of it, I want a 240 sx for that. I found a magnaflow that I could afford, muffler only, and I wanted to know how that would affect sound with stock exhaust otherwise. I'm told that it has a deep and rich sound, which is what I want. I'm also curious, it may be a stupid question, but, will that give me any extra hp?

itll sound fine.....and it'd probably squeeze you 0.25 of a HP .......but like you said, you just want it to look and sound good....so itll look better then stock....and itll sound find....just dont have it all out in the open....tuck it a little....

Even with only chanign the muffler you will probably get some small gains out of it. The stock muffler sucks pretty bad, but as you stated you are in it more for sound and looks than performance so I say you go for it.

Correct me if I am wrong, I know that if you just change to a large muffler(let's say from stock to 3 inch), you will loss the bottom end torque. I don't really understand the dynamic. There are some people called S-Muffler, which has 2-3 bends before the atmosphere. It would keep the bottom end acc. as well as increase peak HP.

I am really looking for increase torque somewhere below 2500rpm with some sweet sound from muffler.

That is wrong, that is only if you replace the exhaust piping with larger than 2". The muffler itself on stock pipe will not kill low end.

I know this is a super noob question, but where on the power band is low end and high end ??

My car is basically stock with the exceptions of ::
2inch mandreal bent exhaust and obx muffler.
cold air intake with cold air box.
optima yellow top battery
new plugs and wires.

Soon :: hs header

When my car is or isnt warmed up....in the beginning of each gear its kind slow to pick up, but then once im 1/3 to 1/2 of the gear, it just starts to pull really really good all the way up till it shifts. ( my car is an automatic ).

Then when its in a new gear, its going good, but you can feel the car pull back a little, then it hits that point and start to pull really well through out the whole time if I floor it.

well our cars aren't low end monsters.. we are pretty equal in tq as we are in hp.. a lot of your power is in the high end.. especially once you get cams and the jwt ecu. once you get your header, you will understand as you will pull more above 4500rpm, well at least you do with a manual...
