Question Temp gage be dancin' with the gas pedal?

Yo, new guy here. My 97 200 SX water temp gage is gone strange. It reads ok for a while then drops to cold for a while. So my thread search on this says to change the sender unit. But get this...when I hit the gas, it moves up to warm, when I take my foot out of it, it falls to cold. Whatz up with that? My stock little ride can't be pullin that many G forces can it?
Please help out, thanks.

Update....found out that the terminal on the sender is loose enough to move with the engine torque. Not such a strange problem after all. Thanks anyways.

Thumbs up sensor location

The water temp sensor is on the right side of the head, near the corner closest to the driver, just below a flat bracket. Easy to reach, not to see. I ordered the sender from NAPA, cost 12 bucks. Good luck man.
