yeah mine are that way, the switch is probably just worn though so u just have to replace the switch and not the whole console

You have to replace the switch. You can find it new at the dealership for around $90.
Now you can also search your local, or internet junk/salvage yards, but they might be in the same condition, or getting ready to take a poo.
So I would suggest saving up if you have to and get a new switch.

Your best bet is to post this in the want to buy forum.... Otherwise call Greg at Mossy Nissan and talk to him about the switch I don;t think it was $90 but I don't remember the exact price.
i got the whole switch pannel at my local dealer for like $100. If you have 98 -99 its diffrent the the 95- 97 models. So make sure you know the year of the car your pulling out from. I have and extra 95-97 switch if any one wants it i got it at the junk yard its works fine but its for a 200sx
