Biggest differences are:
No Limited slip on the SR20DE cars.
More emmissions equipement, at least on the SE-R
Different front end, w/ the solid grille, clear headlights w/ the inner scoop, new bumper.
Taillights have a black surround to them.
Mirrors are black instead of body color and handles are body color not black, not sure if that changed in 97 or not though, at least on the SE-R.
No chrome trim on the window surround.
That is all I can really think of right now.

i dont think he is talking about an se-r, they had black colored mirrors on 95 alos, they colored them 96 and 97.

That link to SE-R.net gives a good list for the SE-R specific. Other than the front and rear fascias, on the SE we were given stock SE-R brakes on the front. So if you go to the parts store to get brake parts make sure they don't give you the normal 200SX SE or Sentra parts.
IMHO the cutout grill and lights set the whole car off. Especially the 99 Sentra. I couldn't imagine owning a 95-97 and not havig the restyled front end. Lights, grill and bumper all fit together so well and the headlights are crystal clear. To each his/her own but it saddens me a bit to see 98 owners removing the headlights because they didn't like the way they looked. But if somebody didn't we'd all have the same looking car. If your going to change one might as well the other. I do think the cutout light don't go well with other grills and the same for aftermarket lights with the 98 "grill".
