I have a knock in my engine. what to do?

I have a 95 200sx se-r sr20de engine. It has been knocking for about 20 miles, it knocks real bad, It sounds like someone is hitting my engine with a hammer. I am not sure wheather to try to fix it or just get a new engine. I do not want to take the bottom end apart and find out my crank is messed up. If anyone has had this problem and know what to do or if it is too late please let me know. Thanks

buy a jdm motor, i bet it is the #3 rod bearing

I don't have $700 to buy a jdm motor, and why #3 rod?

that's generally the rod bearing that spins. I wouldn't drive the car anymore, sounds like the rod is about to shoot through the block. You really don't have much choice but to get a new motor. my opinion at least.

I am looking for someone to trade me a sr20de engine for my greddy exhaust. No luck so far but alot of offers on it. I really want the engine over the money. Thanks for your reply
