Ground control for my 200SX SE-R

I need suspension for my car bad i can get ground control coil overs for 399$ should i do that ? and why ? if not what should i get and were do i get it ? and i had done the unthinkable and cut the spings will the shocks be blown ? and i would need coil overs for sure and not just spings?
