SE-R OBD2 Diagnostics?

Hi:

Was wondering if there was a way to get the engine trouble codes from the OBD2 connector in the fuse box without having the OBD2 scan tool. I know you can get them from the ECU mounted in the centre console, but was wondering if there was a way to get it directly from the OBD2 connector. I saw a procedure for obtaining brake system information by grounding pin 4 on this connector. Any ideas in if engine codes are available using a similar procedure?

Thanks!

Well there are really 2 connectors on ABS equiped cars. One is the DLC(Data Link Connector) for the OBD II and the other is just for the brake system. The one inside the fuse box is the brake one, the other one(under dash) is the DLC. So to answer your question.. No you cant get OBD II codes from the fuse box one. I dont know of any ways to get it from the DLC pins either, althouhg there may be. I am pretty sure you can only get those codes from the ECU using the diag screw on the side of it.
