found me a 200sx i got ???s

ok i currently have a 96nissan sentra gle im tired of it caus its an automatic and 4 door well today i was looking online in my area and found a 95 nissan 200sx 5speed for 900bucks didnt say the miles says its in good condition ima go check it out in the next few days but i was wondering what i need to look for in buying a used car i kno what to look for but are there parts on the 200sx that go out easy or can show problems latter on just drop a line for me and help me out

take someone who knows cars, or take it to a mechanic to have it looked over

believe me...it's worth 30 or 40 bucks to keep you from months of sinking money into a car and headaches

well how many miles is too mutch for buying a 200sx cause mines got 125k and it runs fine but how many is to the point where i should say no

welp i went and bought it from the guy today paid 500 for it 200k miles on it but has a new clutch 5th gear needs to be changed but my dad does transmission work and says its not too hard to do and ajusting the valves wich we doing it tomarow and new tires but it runs good other than that beat my current car sentra on the way home lol so im happy with it i got pictures comming in the next few minutes if anyone wants to see them ima post the link

The valves are not adjustable. They have hydraulic lash adjusters. The only time they need to be adjusted is if you replace rocker arms or lash adjusters. Then there is a specal jig which needs to be used to find the correct thickness shim.

It sounds like you should get a Factory Servce Manual. You can get a PDF version of the B14 manual here.

ok for sure it is the timing chain guides so 20 or 30 bucks down the line itll be fine i forgot hwo mutch exactly i just looked it up but oh well so thats one more problem solved anyone of you kno how many miles till a 200sx will crap out

depending on how its driven iv heard they can go well over 200 thou but if your dads a mech. then it wont be any problem to work on it just do regular maintence and it should be fine for a long time and hell for 500 bucks if you sold your onld car you could get a turbo probly around 3k

well i am selling my old car but im selling it to my brother that needs one bad so ima cut him a deal for 1500 wich is what i paid for it with the family discount bought it from an aunt

you dont want to turbo that motor

if i were you, id just save up for an SR16VE
or if your pockets arent that deep, a much newer/fresher GA16

i didnt plan on turboing this motor due to the fact of how many miles is on it so ima go to a junk yard and find me another ga16de and rebuild that motor and turbo it and see how it goes
