Exclamation clutch problems (i think)

i think im having a problem with my clutch. i was driving down the road yesterday at a normal speed in second gear, i would press down on the gas, and it would rev up like it was still in neutral but then after a couple of seconds it would seem like it would slowly catch, and it would take off. it kept getting worse as i went, till now it doesnt seem to "catch" by all making my car all but undrivable. anyone got any ideas?

Change the clutch

Your clutch is slipping. Youll notice that when its colder, youll seem to grab more but as soon as your car heats up you will slip more. If you dont change the clutch out soon, you run the risk of messing up your flywheel.
If that isnt the case, try to loosen the clutch cable adjustment, sometimes that will help you squeeze some more life out of the clutch.

if you have less then 100,000 miles, it's your clutch cable. just loosen it. to do that, look in your engine bay and look down between the battery and the MAF. you'll see a wire with a lock nut going in to a metal bracket. loosen the sucker and it should be doin' a little better. you should be able to go another 6k miles like that before you need a clutch, depending on how hard you drive.

btw, this problem was dealt with not 3 days ago in another thread. not to be mean, but please search the forums for your problems before you ask questions like this and create needless threads.

i loosened the clutch cable, but as soon as i did that, it stopped grabbing at all. i would press the clutch pedal, and put it in gear... but nothing, no grab nothing... then i took it out of gear, and put it in 2nd without depressing the clutch at all, no grinding nothing. guessing theres more problems than i thought

I'm not sure to be honest but whichever way you went was the wrong way. I have a hydraulic clutch so I don't adjust mine
