I have 2 200SX's a 96 and a 97. They both have had the drivers side windows become stuck open in the last couple of days. Is there an easy way to get the windows up? If I can at least get the window closed I can buy a little time before repairing them at a shop!
No help, just sympathy. My '98 does that; started to
do it last winter, until, one day, I finally got it up. It's
working a little better now, but for a long time last year,
I was praying it didn't rain. Must be a loose connection somewhere?
happend to my 96 drivers side, Dealer wanted 150 bucks for a new motor, Baught it at Pep boys for 30 bucks...took me 10 min to put in...never has worked better

My Daughters 97 SER did this and the window could be lifted up but would drop back. It turned out the lifter assembly was broken. I replaced it and all was well.
good luck .....

Before you check the motor and lifter assembly check the switch itself. You may be able to take out both the driver and passenger smwitches, see if the passenger side will plug in (also plug the drivers side on the passenger side and if the window rolls up it;s the switch, they are notorious for going bad.
I had the problem where the window would automatically go down if you let go of the drivers power window switch. sometimes the switch wouldn't let you roll the window up, other times it would, but as soon as you let go, the window would roll down.
I bought a new switch from Carmax Nissan near Baltimore, MD. Problem solved. wallet is $93 lighter.
that happened with my car just not long ago but it got stuck closed lucky me. What i did was pushed really hard to get it to work then i had to take the switch apart and use a screw driver until i bought a new switch that cost me $6.It takes a lot to wear your motor out.
