ok so i have a b14 sentra gxe-le auto(hate that damn auto) i have an ebay intake and se-r wheels and thats about all the mods i have done it does how ever have a completly upgraded sterio and 109000 miles now what im wondering is if i sold it and bought a 91 se-r (lo-port) would i make money. im asking this cuz i will be going to uti soon and i need all the money i can get but when im there i will be able to do many things to the car because i have access to tools i have never even heard of and countless people that will beable to take the car apart and back together in a number of hours (i exagerate alittle) but i also really want a sr20 motor and i have read that the 91 has the best version of this motor so what u all think?
classics have the high port
which is the better of the SR20s
if you are looking for better performance, that would be the way to go
however, a 91 se-r in good shape is going to be a little difficult to find
you will probably break close to even, or maybe even have to spend a little more out of pocket to get the 91..as dumb as that is
son of a bitch and i thought i was onto something. get a faster car for a cheaper price but hey i live in hickville maby i can find someone selling one for cheap cuz they dont know what they have
Well, you do have a fairly newer Sentra so you MIGHT make some money off of the trade, but yeah, it will be hard to find a classic that's in good shape. The Classics do have the best SR20, but specifically, it's the 94 with the best. It makes 140hp and redlines at 7500 just like the 91-93, but it's also a low-port so you get slightly better gas mileage and it burns a bit cleaner. It wasn't until 95 where the SR20's intake cam got so small that it ruined the power delivery somewhat.
ok well i was looking in the classifides section of our forums and i saw an se-r for about 2500 and if i could sell myne for probly 4000 or 5000 i could make a good bit of money to either a. go into the car or b. use for my app that i need when going to school so i think im gona try it and what do u think about ebay. i know i would never think about buying an expensive car like a skyline or supra (not that i can afford it now anyway) but you get ripped off on those but i think i should be ok with a sentra?
holy crap i went to kelly blue book and they estimated $4840 so it may be possible i could posibly make close to 1000 off of this and i love the b13 style this may be real nice but again thats what the blue book told me est. so it will probly end up being low than that but hey i think its worth it to get an se-r classic for about 3000 with a beat up intirior and an sr20. seeing as how an sr20 swap will cost close to the same or a turbo for my 1.6 and a tranny swap will be more and plus if the engine is not all its craked up to be or shoddy i can allways work on it at school on the weekends (working on cars is the reason im going to school so it will be like homework lol)
i agree i think it will be very hard i should be able to fine one and i have no problem buying somthing with torn up seats and a hanging headliner (all the more fun) but i really dont want to buy one that it looks like someone waxed it.........once.........only once..... and forgot to wipe off the wax that would be far more expencive and time comsuming ie no car for atleast a week when its beeing painted. but intirior the ratier the better then i can fix it up and it gives me an excuse to get new seats and so on but im rambling thanks for all the input
I don't know what people use back east for pricing cars, but it seems like anybody that does anything with cars in Utah uses the NADA blue book. My bank uses it, car dealerships around here use it for trade-ins, (but not for selling cars. They use Kelly's for that.) It seems like the NADA blue book puts cars about $1000 dollars cheaper than Kelly. Anyway... just a thought.
