steering wheel?

i recently had my inner tie rods replaced and an alignment done by firestone. now my steering wheel isnt as stiff as before. well, its very loose when driving. i dont know if thats good or not. BUT, everytime i drive now and go over a small bump, my steering wheel moves a little to the right and left. its like i can feel every bump on the road. is there a way of tightening the steering wheel??

This may not be a problem but if it seems like one to you it may be that the steering column dampener is damaged? that should dampen the vibration and bumps and keep them from being transmitted to the driver. Don't quote me on that though as i haven't experienced the problem.
