CEL problem

My CEL has been on, So I got the thing to flash the code. It was 55 the the page that everybody post says it doesnt turn the light on and nothing is wrong with the system.
So I reset it and its off, I decide to go for a drive and it comes on again.

Anybody know what might be making it come on?

You probably did what I did the first time, and that you accidently reset the code before you had a chance to read it. Just wait for it to come back on, and double check to make sure you turn the screw in the correct direction the first time, then it will flash the code.

I kinda doubt it, I let it flash and repeat for atleast a min, I read(counted) the code a few times, every time it was 5 long 5 short.

What he means is that when you first turned the screw you did it twice cause maybe you didnt see it start to flash and accedentially reset the code.
If the light doesnt come back on, great. But if it does reappear, make sure you turn the diagnostic mode selector on the back of the ECU fully clockwise, then wait two seconds and turn the mode selector fully counter clockwise.

IMO, the screw is kinda....screwy (no pun intended)

same thing happened to me, I went to run the codes, I turned the screw too far and it reset to a 55 before I could read the real problem. It went away after that b/c I fixed the problem.

Anyway, take the car to autozone, they do free error checking.

If you've already got that pesky cover off, might as well just wait to see if the light comes back. I don't know about your area, but the AutoZones are dicks about diagnostics here.
