ac compressor bad

ok, i posted some questions on the forum before on why my AC doesnt cool on daytime and only at night time. well i did osme tests and it came out to be that my compressor is not generating enough pressure for it to be cold when it is hot outside or when the car idles. i put the hoses on and i reved up the motor with the ac on , and then i could see that it builds pressure only when the car is moving or when the motors is reved up. So i need to get a new compressor. my question is does the 1.6 motor compressor also fit the 2.0???

just curious, what pressures are showing up at around 2000 RPM? You may just be low on R 134.

Yeah, if the compressor wasn't working, you would never get cold air. Try filling the system with a can of R134a first before you replace the compresor! If the compressor is not turning on, it could also be a faulty cycling switch ( located in the dryer, IIRC) not turning the compressor clutch on( well...not signaling the computer to do so..)

^ What he said

...but YES, the 1.6 compressor fits the 2.0 on B14's. Atleast it did for my 95' SE-R. The compressor I stole from a 96' GA16. So yes, exact fit.

It all started out with a ba evaporator which i had to replace, which i did. Before the evaporator went bad the compressor cooled with no problem, until after i put the new evaporator and expansion valve, vacuum and recharge is when the compressor didnt cool as much. It does kick in, it just doesnt have enough pressure to cool in the daytime.
