Would you trade your 200 ga16 for a turbo volvo?

1998 200sx, vs a 1995 volvo 850 turbo (222hp, 230ish tq, easily modded with a reputable chip up to 280hp, 290tq)

Volvo has ALL maintenance records and has no real issues.

it all depends on what you're looking for in a car. A fast tank is still fast. And it's a tank.

I like the 850 turbo it is heavy 3200lb or so but safe and snappy i am guessing it is an auto. gas mileage will be less but i think the performance is pretty good for a volvo. 280hp and 290tq that is a jump and the 850s arent really ugly and the 200sx isnt exactly wow to look at.

Well when someone looks at a modded 200sx what do they say? Now when they look at a modded Volvo what do they say?...maybe its fast or what not, but errrrrrrr its a volvo and my mom has one.....

depends on what you are going for nice fast euro car or more of a compact sport car. It is not like you are buying a fast neon... haha volvo is a nice car i am guessing lower insurance since it is a tank family car.

I dunno what you guys are saying about volvo's being ugly... my 200 is far from nice looking imo and it's one of the nicer out there. Most 200's/sentra's are riced beyond belief. I guess it's a matter of opinion..

they are basically a tank .. slo like one and strong like one.

my friend has one of those early 90's volvos and he got rear ended on the freeway .. the volvo survived with just a little crumple in the bumper !

slow?? this volvo i'm considering does the 1/4 in low 15's with no mods on street tires.. With a $800 ecu it boosts power up to 280++ hp and 280++ tq

MUCH faster than 99% of ga16's, and faster than most se-r's

I'm basically thinking the same, it sounds like your mind is made up already on the Volvo, and that no matter what we say its not going to change that. Just remember a lighter car with 400 hp (Sr20det swap) is going to out run that heavy ass 280 hp car.
