Rotors Always Warping on 1.6

My 98 Gxe has 50,000 and I am on my third set of rotors because of warping. the last time I changed them they warped in under 1,000 miles and I was making sure I was not stoping too hard. Compared to other people I know my rotors are not put under unheard of stress. My pads do are not wearing out its just for some reason my rotors are getting too hot. Has any one else had problems like this please let me know thanks Don

You should make sure that your wheels are only torqued to 85 foot pounds, anything more than that and every time you hit the brakes they warp a little becuase of the heat weakens the metal a little and the pressure from the rim warps it, if you work your brakes hard and hit a water puddle they will warp really bad, I only had to change the stock rotors once, the service/parts guy at the local dealer told me about the warping thing. Stoptech and Powreslot will do the same thing if they are torqued to much. I haven't had any problems since then, on my stock one or my NX2K Powerslots.

Take a look at this article on StopTech's site.
