I started the car up and started to go down the road and when I got to the stop sign the car stalled. Now when I start it the rpms go up and down and it stalls. There is a little black smoke. It will run if I hold the gas down a little but as soon as I let off it stalls. It is a 95 Nissan Sentra GLE auto. Any ideas on what is going on? Thanks for any help. P.S. The car wa running fine all day.
I went to leave my house and made it to the stop sign and the the car stalled. Now when I start the car the rpms go up and down. I can keep it running if I give it gas but as soon as I let off the car stalls. It was running fine all day. Anyone have any ideas of what is going on? There is also a little bit of black smoke to. Thanks for any help.
I know its not a new car I just hope it is nothing serious because I really cant afford to fix it right now. And James I am sorry for the attitude Im just really frustrated I all ready had 1 car that runs bad and now I have another.
I went back out and started the car and it was still trying to stall until I turned the air cond. on. Then the idle came up. As soon as I turned the air off the idle went down again and more smoke came out of the exaust. Why would the idle come up when I turn the air on? Please Help
The black smoke indicates the car is running very rich. When the A/C is turned on, the computer increases the idle speed to keep the engine from stalling due to the extra load of the compressor.
