Prospective Sentra buyer

Hey all, with the threat of $2.50 gas prices I decided I need a second car. I found a '97 Sentra with 123,000 miles, can't recall if it was a XE, GXE, or GLE now. :dumbass: It has a rebuilt title, but I think the 1699 asking price is a steal.

Just wondering if I could get some feedback from owners, and info on some things that typically go wrong with it. One thing I noticed when I was driving it was that the clutch had to be pushed in very hard to shift gears, is this how it should be? Other than that it seemed to shift pretty smooth and the engine sounded strong.

Thanks for the help.

Well I'm not in a Sentra, I'm in a 200SX, 1.6L, clutch shouldn't be that much different from the 2.0L I'm assuming, but my clutch isn't that hard to push in, and I replaced it with an Exedy one, so you might have to replace that, or might just be the cable, I don't know anything about repairs though, my car only has 70k on it, good luck though!

I have a 97 gxe auto with 114000 miles on it. I've put around 30,000 miles on it and haven't had any probs that weren't my own screwups. There perfect cars for daily driving. Very reliable. And for that price if its in good shape I'd jump on it.
