listen to what the exhaust shop did

i went back to the exhaust shop to get them to fix my piping, it was rubbing on the gas tank. so the guy gets the sawzall, and starts cutting. i'm standing there watching, and the dude pokes a hole in my gas tank. so theres gas everywhere, i had a full tank. we ended up plugging the hole with a sheet metal screw, and then jb weld over the top. should i demand a new gas tank, even though it's not leaking? they gave me some money for the gas that was lost.

not cool at all.........that was not part of the job you arranged with them, and could be a potentially dangerous fix. Tell them you'll take a new tank

yeah, have them get you a new tank, the screw and jb weld isn't really safe or a permanent repair. That fool's lucky he didn't catch himself on fire.

i get work done there cheap cause my neighbor's brother welds there. it's a super ghetto ass shop, so there really wasn't an arrangement so to speak. i was up there to get i fixed again, for the sixth time, no shit. i am reluctant to continue letting them touch my car.

plans for the car: get a turbo and run it off the road. it's inevitable.

whats the point of wrecking your car if it doesn't catch on fire? ha ha. but seriously, what kind of and where should i look for a fuel cell, what's the price range? i need something to tell the lady who handles the money up there.

First of all, just look for a regular tank. I'd get the exact replacement than try to make them pay more for a product they damaged. Secondly, go to a professional exhaust shop instead of risking your car's state of road worthiness at the ghetto shop.

If your looking for a good aftermarket cell I think Fuel-Safe makes some really nice ones. Not real cheap but its what they always use on Monster Garage when they actually put a car on a track.

i guess a stock tank would be the most logical solution. if it wasn't a metal tank i would definately try to upgrade. thing is, there isn't really a problem, so i may encounter some resistance from them in giving me any money.

If all else fails: take 'em to court. sure there is some friendly fire, but a shop that ghetto shouldn't be in business.

Roger That, this shop sounds like a bunch of BS. They need to pay to have your tank replaced, if not, try small claims court.
