Question check engine light

i just put on a ractive filter to replace my stock air box, and now my check engine light will not turn off, i know it is because my 02 scensor is not detecting anything, but is there anyway to connect it so the light will turn off or should i just take out the check engine light from the gauge cluster?

When you put the new filter on did you bother the small sensor on the front side of the air box. This is the AIT or air intake temp. sensor. The car will run but the check engine light will be on. If it were your O2 sensor I doubt your car would run very well. Buy a Haynes Repair Manual for your car and it will show you how to check your codes. Also you can do a search here and come up with alot of info regarding ecu and codes. Good luck.

It's a Temp sensor...

There should have been a small plastic piece (tube) that went downward into the fender off the stock airbox... you can leave that there with the temp sensor plugged in.....it won't interfer with anything. You'll have to reset the code on the ECU... or it will clear on it's own after a short while if the temp sensor is reading properly.

tried to make easy to understand...

good luck

What he said

You must've unplugged the sensor when you took the tubing out. Find that sensor, plug it back into the wire plug, and zip tie it to the side where it's out of the way. It's not too important of a sensor, jus make sure it's in an area near the intake filter.
