clutch question

K... blew my motor a while ago, got a new one and put a new clutch in it. Got it from e-bay (the clutch). The listing said that it held 20% over stock. When i got it back the clutch pedal was looser than my x-girlfriend. i checked the adjustment at the transmission and it was maxed out. I noticed 2nd gear grinds alot at first downshifting. should i cut the cable and shorten it with wire dealie-bobbers? is it the new clutch itself? the new clutch seems like it hold less than my old stock one. i don't remember the gears grinding before. last time i let a junk yard work on my car...

Your clutch cable may need replacing. It may be too old to be able to engage/disengage the clutch properly. Go to a certified mechanic to do it for you.

Also, don't believe the sellers on ebay as some of them make false claims on their items. I wouldn't.

if you have no adjustment left, then you need a new cable....its not that hard to replace, after the first one ,lol, its easy. the hard part is hooking the new cable on the pedal assy.
