power and neg wires?

i was looking to replace my power and negative wires coming off the battery and get new terminals. if i got platinum terminals with 0 gauge wires for the power and neg would that be ok(would it work) and would it increase performance at all? or is there a certain type of wire i need? and does anybody know the stock gauge of wire for our battery wires? AAND, the wires i were lookin at were stinger wires that said somthin like 3400 watts but could these work for what i need?

Increase performance of what? The alternator? Battery? No engine performance gains to be had except replacement with a small gel battery...you know, take a few pounds out of the car...
