headlight bulbs dispute

right now i have nokya xenons in my car and they suck. i cant see that well at night. i see better using my stock bulbs. i have a heavy duty wiring harness installed in my car, the kind that actually connects to ur battery. i was wondering if anyone knew of some really good high wattage bulbs of stock wattage that look really white and actually help u see better at night as well. i was thinking about getting some mtec bulbs off of ebay. i cant afford piaas. ONe more thing, i tried those sylvania silverstars, but they appear yellow, has anyone else had that problem?

use PIAA bulbs, they may be expensive but they are bright as shit and they have nice warranties on them, trust me i had some blow out and got them replaced for free.. i have the PIAA platiums or extreme.... but when my first set of head lights blew out, they were discountinuing the model so my local shop let me upgrade for the difference but they didn't know i got the originals for 65 a set and i got the upgrade a 90 value for 4 dollars plus my old bulbs.. but PIAA i have notice have been the best on the market untill you go hid bulbs

if they are appearing yellow then you may want to try cleaning your headlamps silverstars are by no means yellow or dim may have gotten a faulty pair but I doubt it. You did get the silverstars right the ones that are 20-25 each just making sure I wonder if something else is up on the car. You don't need a high wattage wiring harness just better bulbs. I have silver stars and they are great just need to find some corners that match them. But if you can't find anything else wrong I would go with Polarg or PIAA.

ok, I got this off of HIDforum.com, it lists the brightness of aftermarket bulbs (lumens) compaired to stock bulbs, take a look:
  • +50%: Philips Vision Plus
  • +20%: Osram/Sylvania Xtra Vision
  • +20%: Osram/Sylvania Silverstar
  • +0%: Philips Bluevison
  • +0%: Osram/Sylvania Cool Blue
  • +0%: Osram/Sylvania Halogen Plus
  • +0%: OEM bulbs like GE.
  • -10%: PIAA Superwite
I would like to add that I have XD5 bulbs in my car but they achieve ALOT of extra brightness, but through higher wattage. Keep in mind that if you get higher wattage bulbs that you must upgrade the bulb socket or you will melt the stock socket with the excess heat given off.

Are those XD5 bulbs really bright? i was thinking about either getting the XD5 or MTEC. Let me know what yall think. i have a heavy duty wiring harness already installed so it can handle the high wattage bulbs. I want to have the bright lights so i can actually see better than my damn nokya bulbs.

ya, I love them XD5's. Really bright, they really improved the light output in my Sentra and my mom's Maxima. Very, Very nice bulbs, and 5100K.
