Break + Battery Light??

my 1998 Nissan Sentra GXE GA16DE car was running fine this morning and this afternoon while driving to the local supermarket. The BREAK and BATTERY light on the dashboard was lit. Does anyone know why they are lit? Thanks in advance.

yeah...I had the same problem...do they go away when you press on the gas? Also, if you drive and start noticing that your lights are going dim and if you turn off your car after driving awhile and try it crank it back up, you probably wont have enough battery power.
Replace your altenator soon!!! $135 at Adv Auto Parts with Lifetime warranty.

I don't know the particulars of Nissan yet, but based on prior experence with other cars, the brake light goes on under these conditions...

1. e-brake on
2. master cylinder plunger in too far
a. Low on fluid
b. air in lines
