removing windshield wipers arms?

i notice the black paint on the arms that hold the windwipers are fading. is there any way of removing them, so i can respray black paint on them?? i see springs, but dont know how to remove them.

I don't know what chasis you have but usually there is simply a bolt that needs to be undone and you can pull them right off. My car (b14) has a plastic cap that has to be popped off before I can get access to the bolt.

mine was the same way. I think it was a 12mm socket. Just remember the postion of them so you get them back on straight.
I painted them gloss black with some engine enamal(?) so it would match the trim by my doors.

Yea, it is just a 12mm bolt on each arm... I've done this more times than I can count it makes your car look alot better IMO. Just make sure that you sand them... then a few coats of primer.. then clear... they come out real nice.
